New kitchen installation
Great News! The long-awaited kitchen is just around the corner. Installation begins at the end of March and should take no more than 2 weeks. We are hopeful that the work will cause minimal disruption to existing bookings – the singers and sewers will hopefully find their way around the chair stacks! The Trustees are so excited that the end is in sight. It’s been a long haul but we know it will all have been worth it. The new oven is already in place; it looks splendid and works a treat.
In other news, we are cleaning up the car park on Saturday 14th, any and all help would be much appreciated. There is also talk of running a mid-week cinema afternoon showing old movies – what do you think?
Do join us at some point during ‘Village Halls Week’ – the Memorial Hall is a fabulous venue for all occasions and this is a great opportunity to come inside and have a look.

May Meeting
Last evening, the Memorial Hall hosted its Annual General Meeting. Gill Odling (Chair) gave a lively report of what had been achieved during the last year and outlined all the exciting projects planned for the future. Gill thanked the large number of individuals in our community who help with various aspects of keeping the hall running including setting the heating timer, writing health and safety documents, applying for grants and many, many other tasks.
Currently, the Hall is seeking people willing to become Trustees and if you might be interested pm Gill directly. Graham Harris (Treasurer) outlined a very healthy financial picture but carefully cautioned that the upkeep of a Grade II Listed building is an expensive business and the possibility of extremely costly repairs must always be planned for.
The meeting was well attended by many from the village and there was unanimous agreement that the Trustees and co-opted committee members continue to do a fantastic job of keeping this amazing facility for the village in excellent shape.
